Capital Insurance Group announced it will write more homeowners’ policies written in Paradise, California, helping residents impacted by the 2018 Camp Fire.
CIG partnered with the Rebuild Paradise Foundation, which has helped guide residents through the rebuilding process, offering resources, education and advocacy.
The move is aimed at helping homeowners reduce reliance on the California FAIR Plan and return homeowners to the standard insurance market.
This commitment will largely be accomplished by supporting those homeowners who invest in wildfire resilience, including the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety’s Wildfire Prepared Home designation program. Homes in Paradise meeting the standards set by IBHS are eligible for coverage under CIG’s program.
CIG, a regional property/casualty insurer in the Western U.S., is underwritten by its affiliate companies: California Capital Insurance Co., Eagle West Insurance Co., Nevada Capital Insurance Co. and Monterey Insurance Co.
