Summer is upon us, and in the insurance world, that means it’s prime time for conventions and meetings. Attending meetings and conventions is a great way for insurance professionals to get together, network with peers, gain industry insight and knowledge, and take a day (or two or three!) away from the office.
Conventions provide the most invaluable opportunities to perform a task crucial to all trades-networking. One of the most essential things we gain by attending these industry-specific functions is the ability to meet those we work alongside with, even if we do not interact with them on a daily basis. All of us are colleagues, even as your job is agent and mine is editor. We all represent the insurance industry, and strive to maintain a healthy, viable industry. After all, insurance has historically been a family affair.
While conferences come in many shapes and sizes, one of the most important meetings insurance professionals can attend is their local agent and broker trade association industry day. Across the Western region, agents, brokers, CSRs and agency personnel are gathering at their respective local association I-Days to catch up on the latest in insurance news and agency management practices.
Here’s a sneak peek at your upcoming local I-Day (dates subject to change; check with your local association):
June 26 – Nevada I Day
July 15 – Wyoming I Day
July 23 – Montana I Day
Aug. 13 – Idaho I Day
Aug. 25 – Arizona I Day
Aug. 28 – Oregon I Day
Sept. 21 – Colorado I Day
Sept. 22 – Washington I Day
Oct. 5 – New Mexico I Day
Oct. 19 – Sacramento I Day
Oct. 24 – Alaska I Day
Nov. 9 – Bakersfield I Day
Nov. 15 – Hawaii I Day
All in all, conferences are a great way to break the monotony of the office. They will always give us the chance to meet our colleagues and unify us as an industry. And of course, to have a little fun. See you out there!
