he is telling the truth – he is blunt and a straight shooter…private industry is of course handling this better than the federal government…

When you’re spoon-fed gov’t subsidized coverage to artificially reduce the premium because you won’t allow the market to set an appropriate rate for the coverage provided… just close your mouth and swallow.

If the Governor thinks this is bad, wait until ObamaCare kicks in.

The federal program is awful. Most people think they will get enough money to rebuild – what they get is a low cost loan which in most cases isn’t enough for debri removal and some drywall. Then if you take the assistance, you have to build according to current flood guidelines. All those houses that where not on pillars will be required to be built up. Tell me, will $40,000 cover that and rebuild a home?

Oh and by the way, the flood program premium is phasing out subsidizing the premium. What until you see what the premium will be for a flood policy in a couple of years.

By the way, NJ — Nashville (flooded in 2010) is still waiting for the money and settle claims.

The flood in TN was of a lesser ‘magnitude’ than Sandy. Having said that, it must be noted that the TN legislature DID NOT waive policy deductibles. TN DID NOT demand special status the way NJ & NY are. TN residents and businesses were smart enough to realize that when a loss is paid, if there is a mortgagee on the policy, the proceeds go first to the bank and are then disbursed. NY & NJ have a huge sense of entitlement – TN quietly and effectively rebuilt.

Since you are going to invest your hard-earned money on this particular policy, it is quite important for you to find the best company that is offering the kind of policy that will suit your lifestyle and your budget.
