AssuredPartners Inc. announced Wednesday that it has acquired Suydam Insurance Agency in Somerset, New Jersey. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Suydam Insurance Agency has provided business and personal insurance coverage to clients in the greater New Jersey area since its founding in 1879. The Suydam team of eight will continue operations in Somerset under the leadership of Robin Suydam and Ryck Suydam.
In addition to overseeing their agency, Robin and Ryck have been active in their industry and their community. Robin is a past president of Professional Insurance Agents of NJ (PIANJ), and Ryck currently serves as the president of the New Jersey Farm Bureau.
Based in Lake Mary, Florida, AssuredPartners acquires and invests in insurance brokerage businesses (property/casualty, employee benefits, surety and MGU’s) across the U.S. and in London. From its founding in 2011, AssuredPartners has grown to $550 million in annualized revenue, with over 125 offices in 30 states and a London office.
