Lockton Expands in Glasgow, Scotland with Griffiths & Armour Buy

Lockton Companies, LLP announced that it has reached agreement to acquire the Glasgow general insurance business of Griffiths & Armour. The transaction, completed on October 1st, “builds on Lockton’s investments in the Scottish corporate insurance market following the strategic hires announced in June of Gordon Duncan, Gordon McLagan, and Nichola Martin,” the announcement said.

Gordon Duncan, Head of Corporate, Scotland for Lockton commented expressed delight that “Graeme Stirling and his team are joining Lockton.” He also indicated that the acquisition “further strengthens Lockton’s position in Scotland as a combined business and provides extensive credentials, capabilities and resources to help our clients grow and thrive.”

Lockton also noted that the acquisition “will complement the established Professional and Financial Lines business in Edinburgh, led by Lorraine Boyle, and increases the number of insurance and risk management professionals employed by Lockton in Scotland to more than 25.”

Lockton said its “corporate risk business in Scotland works with clients in all sectors pro-actively designing and implementing bespoke insurance and risk management solutions to protect their balance sheet and help them become more successful.”
