An Iowa City, Iowa woman convicted of setting her own apartment on fire will serve up to 10 years in prison.
Jayne Eicher, 38, pleaded guilty to second-degree arson Aug. 7. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison with credit for 42 days she has already served in Johnson County jail on the charge, court records show.
She had been charged with first-degree arson.
Eicher was accused of setting bedding on fire in her apartment June 18. Some people in the four-unit building broke into her apartment to put it out. No one was injured.
