The Westfield Group recently announced that Roger McManus has been named to the newly created position of chief operating officer for Westfield Group and Jim Clay has been named to replace him as president.

The appointment as chief operating officer recognizes McManus on his nearly ten years leading Westfield’s property and casualty insurance operations. In that time, Westfield has more than doubled statutory surplus.

In his new role, McManus assumes additional responsibilities for developing synergies between the insurance operations and Westfield Financial, which includes Westfield Bank, insurance brokerage, structured settlement and title insurance operations, in addition to overseeing a transition of leadership to Clay.

Clay assumes leadership responsibility for Westfield’s commercial lines and personal lines operations. He most recently served as senior executive for Personal Lines and Small Business Accounts. Prior to that, Clay was senior executive, Commercial Lines, responsible for all commercial package business in Westfield’s 17 property and casualty states. Clay began his insurance career with Westfield in 1980.

In business for more than 159 years, Westfield Insurance provides commercial and personal insurance in 17 states and surety services in 28 states.
