Missouri Insurance Director Doug Ommen and Deputy Director Larry McCord will visit with employees of GM Peters Agency and JC Rupp Agency in Liberty today as part of the state’s “Capitol for a Day Event.’
“One of the most important things we can do as insurance regulators is to listen to the ideas and concerns of those who provide the services to our consumers,” Insurance Director Doug Ommen said. “Missouri consumers depend on insurance producers the most when it comes to securing their financial future, so we must talk with producers to determine the least burdensome but most effective ways of regulating the industry to best meet the needs of consumers.”
“In order for our department to best serve the citizens of this state, we must also be accessible and accountable to consumers, professionals and industry,” Deputy Director Larry McCord said. “One-on-one visits like the ones we’re making today provide personalized access to our department and all of state government.”
While in Liberty, department officials will hold office hours at William Jewell College from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. to answer questions and provide assistance.
