Workers’ compensation insurer, United Heartland, in New Berlin, Wis., has appointed Rick Bartelme as director of Loss Control.
Bartelme is responsible for implementing United Heartland’s comprehensive approach to loss control, which involves customizing a results-based program to each company and targets potential exposures and cost drivers specific to their business. He will direct loss control operations for the organization and focus on maintaining high levels of customer service.
Prior to accepting this position, Bartelme served as a loss control manager overseeing staff in Wisconsin and Illinois. He joined United Heartland as a loss control consultant in 1992.
Previously, Bartelme spent four years with CNA Insurance serving as a loss control supervisor, large lines coordinator and loss control representative and was a loss control representative with General Accident Insurance for three years.
Bartelme graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety, and as of June will have had 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry.
