Former CompSource Oklahoma Claims Director Indicted for Fraud

Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson reported that the former claims director for CompSource Oklahoma is accused of one count of workers’ compensation fraud in a Multicounty Grand Jury indictment unsealed recently in Oklahoma County District Court.

According to the indictment, Ann Seibel “did knowingly, intentionally and fraudulently conspire to conceal or attempt to conceal information material to a workers’ compensation claim.”

“Seibel is accused of pressuring an Oklahoma doctor to withdraw an unfavorable medical report by threatening to bar him from any future business with CompSource,” Edmondson said. “Seibel did not like the doctor’s conclusions so she pushed him to pull back his report. This denied the workers’ compensation court a critical piece of evidence involving a work-related death claim and denied the injured worker’s surviving spouse the right to present his best case for compensation.”

CompSource provides workers’ compensation insurance coverage for state, county and city employees in addition to private employers throughout the state. Edmondson’s Workers’ Compensation Fraud Unit brought the case to the grand jury, which indicted Seibel earlier this week.
