BrickStreet Bids to Keep West Virginia Workers’ Comp Accounts

July 27, 2011

BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Co. has decided it wants to continue providing workers’ compensation insurance to state agencies.

BrickStreet had said earlier this year that it wasn’t interested in continuing the coverage. The state then began seeking bids from other insurers.

President and CEO Greg Burton told the Charleston Daily Mail that the company decided to bid to keep the business after it reviewed the state’s request for proposals. Burton says Brickstreet officials believe the program fits within the company’s business model.

The deadline to submit bids has been extended until Aug. 10. A contract is expected to be awarded Aug. 19.
