Speaking will be Bruce Norman, senior vice president of marketing at Mercury Insurance, Frank J. Kotarba, president and CEO of Golden Eagle Insurance Services, Mary Lou Misrahy, president of Fremont Compensation, and Derek Borisoff, president of Monarch E&S. The panel will also take questions from the audience as to what direction the market is headed, and how this will impact business. The panel will offer field questions from the audience.
Betsey Brewer, CPCU of the Rule Company, will moderate the event. The Platinum Sponsors are Monarch E&S Insurance Services, AMS Services Inc., and the Greenspan Company.
Along with the continuing education seminars and executive panel will be an exhibit hall and luncheon.
“We’ve done previous “I” Days; we have one every year. It’s a joint venture between San Fernando Valley, Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, and Los Angeles,” Mary Boales of Fortman Insurance, and chairperson of this year’s “I” Day, said.
“It’s an event we do every year, where the markets get to come to the location, and for years now it’s been at the Sheraton Universal, and there’s an exhibit hall where they get to hawk their wares, hand out goodies, and meet the agents.”
Boales hopes that this year, the companies will be able to meet more than just the agents, but also other members of the office staff, such as CSR’s, and receptionists.
Offering a unique invitation to bring together all people of the industry, participants who pay for a full day of registration for “I” Day 2002 will be allowed to bring additional members of their team to view the exhibit hall at no extra cost.
With this new registration process, offices won’t have to justify paying for CSR’s and other members of the office staff to attend education seminars they don’t need, but still extends the opportunity to meet representatives in the industry. Boales explains, “These people are the ones who take everyone’s phone calls and know everybody by name, and we hope it will be a nice change for them to get out there, and actually get to shake hands and get their own goody bag.”
Boales expects the typical 400 attendants with hopes for more this year with the opportunities for people to attend just the exhibit hall.
The conference wraps up with a luncheon being MC’d by Rick Dinger of Crescenta Valley Insurance and will feature entertainment by comedian Scott Wood.
