Republican Mark Darr, an insurance agent, will be Arkansas’ next lieutenant governor, having beaten Democrat Shane Broadway on Nov. 2. Darr, from Rogers, clinched the victory in a close race in his first attempt at elected office. He is an agent for Wealthbridge Financial Services and also owns the Mad Pizza Co. Broadway is a state senator from Bryant and a former speaker of the Arkansas House.
The lieutenant governor’s office is a part-time job and largely ceremonial in nature.
