Weather officials have confirmed that a tornado descended on a northeast Philadelphia block late last month – tearing part of the roof off a beer distributor and bar and restaurant and demolishing a car repair shop.
The National Weather Service has verified that the damages was caused by an EF-0 tornado.
No serious injuries were reported.
Gloria Deckard of the Beer Hut store told the Philadelphia Inquirer that the place was totaled. She said the store had been there since 1974.
The winds also brought down the roof of R&R Car Repair next door. Benny the Bum’s Crabhouse bar and restaurant also lost part of its roof.
