    This is a great article! I come at it from the perspective of having been a successful producer myself and responsible for also recruiting, developing and retaining producers. I’ve also been a shareholder of two independent insurance agencies. Here is the bottom-line: It starts with being able to recruit and acquire high performing talent supported by coaching and training. The firm must also have a distinguished sales culture and process that supports an organic growth strategy. The strategy should include data driven information and encompass the successful execution of best practices in the industry focused on sustainability. Acquiring a producer with a book of business or acquiring another agency is short-term. Investing in the formula above leads to short and long-term success.
