A 38 year-old San Bernardino, Calif. man was sentenced to four years in state prison for defrauding his insurance company.
Terry McGee was arrested in July while on his way to class at San Bernardino Valley Community College. Investigators with the CDI’s Fraud Division alleged McGee bilked Insurance Company of the West out of $5,250 when he filed a false claim for property losses resulting from a purported home burglary.
Insurance Company of the West received an anonymous tip that the items allegedly stolen in the burglary were pawned by McGee. The items claimed as stolen were located at a local pawnshop.
McGee already has a prior felony conviction for armed robbery, making this conviction his second strike.
