Mario Moreno, 45, was arrested in Mariposa, Calif. and booked into the Mariposa County Jail on a $250,000 bail felony warrant.
The criminal investigation conducted by CDI’s Inland Empire Regional Office revealed that Moreno reportedly sustained a work-related injury while employed in Fontana. During the processing of the claim, Moreno allegedly made several misrepresentations concerning his physical abilities to his treating physicians and in sworn depositions. Moreno was also videotaped performing certain activities that he stated he could not do.
Republic Indemnity Insurance Company paid a total of $242,835 on this claim. Moreno served time in prison for burglary and child molestation and is subject to the three strikes law.
