Percentage of Oregonians who have earthquake insurance, according to a state Department of Consumer and Business Services survey. Jan. 26 marks the 310th anniversary of the last, great Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake. This magnitude 9.0 earthquake was centered about 75 miles offshore and damaged the coastline from Northern California to Southern British Columbia, according to the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries.

Amount of damage expected from the magnitude-6.5 temblor that struck Northern California in early January. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency in Humboldt County. Eureka, the largest city affected by the quake, estimated damage at $17.9 million.
