Nuts & Bolts: Zurich North America’s Environmental Group has launched its Home Environmental Protection program, which protects homeowners with residential fuel oil tanks. The coverage complements traditional homeowner’s insurance policies and provides policyholders with coverage for legally required first-party cleanup costs as a result of a release caused by a defect in the fuel oil system. It also offers a sub-limit coverage for site restoration after clean up and access to a network of environmental clean up and tank testing professionals.
Dollars: Clean up limit of up to $100,000.
States Available: Currently in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Available throughout the entire Northeast by the end of 2002 and nationwide during 2003.
