The Target Markets Program Administrators Association has a new president. He is Art Seifert, founder, president and chief executive officer of Anandale, Va.-based The Lighthouse Companies, and one of the original members of the Target Markets organization.

Lighthouse, formed in 1994, is a national specialty program underwriting wholesaler. It specializes in programs for Eldercare, Audio Visual Equipment; Employment Placement Industry; Nonprofits and Insurance Agents E&O and Lawyers Professional Liability.

Seifert assumes the presidency from Glenn Clark, owner and president of Rockwood Programs in Wilmington, Del., also one of the founders of the organization who has served as president since its birth four years ago.

The Target Markets Program Administrators Association is an organization dedicated to the unique challenges of program administrators. Its headquarters is in Wilmington, Del.

The Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) appointed its new officers and trustees at its recent Annual International Conference. PMA Capital Corporation in Philadelphia, Pa., announced that Lisa A. Hanssen has been promoted to the position of assistant vice president and assistant general counsel. Hanssen is primarily responsible for general corporate matters, corporate governance and compliance with insurance holding company, employment, privacy and other regulatory requirements. Hanssen, who joined PMA Capital Corporation in 2000, was previously senior counsel. Her career as an attorney began in 1997 at CIGNA International, where she held the position of Corporate Secretary until 2000.

IVANS has added T.C. Kaiser to its senior management team. Kaiser has more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare and technology industries. In his role of group vice president of offering management, Kaiser is responsible for developing and launching new products and services. Kaiser will focus on meeting the top concerns expressed by information officers including security, disaster recovery and government regulations. Prior to joining IVANS, Kaiser was vice president of information technology at iLIANT Corporation, an application service provider and billing outsourcing company for physicians.

Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. (MMC) reported that Roger Egan, president and chief operating officer of Marsh Inc., its risk and insurance services subsidiary, and Christopher Treanor, Marsh Inc.’s chairman and CEO of Global Placement, have been asked to step down from their positions but will help with the transition.

Peter Garvey, president and chief executive officer of Marsh’s North American operations, and William Malloy, president and CEO of Marsh’s Europe and Middle East operations, have been promoted to co-presidents of Marsh Inc., and Philip Moyles Jr., chairman of Client Development-North America, has been promoted to executive vice president.

Marc Slafsky recently joined the staff of Appleby & Wyman Insurance Agency and Financial Services in Beverly, Mass. as executive producer. Slafsky has more than 20 years’ experience in commercial insurance on the North Shore.
McSweeney & Ricci Insurance Agency located in Braintree, Mass., recently welcomed Karin D’Eramo as manager of personal lines and Darlene P. Andrade as an account manager in commercial lines. D’Eramo has more than 10 years of personal lines experience. Andrade is a licensed broker with 11 years of insurance experience.

After 22 years working as Virginia’s Deputy Commissioner of Insurance for the State Corporation Commission, Gerald A. Milsky is joining Macaulay & Burtch, P.C. in Richmond. Like the other members of this new model firm, Milsky will run his own practice and set his own fees. For over two decades, Milsky was active in drafting legislation and adopting regulations. As an insurance regulator, he also supervised consumer complaints, form approvals, market conduct examinations, and the investigation and licensing of agents. Milsky is also a founder and former president of the Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society, a national association of some 1,000 state regulators from all across the country.

NIP Specialty Brokerage LLC of Woodbridge, N.J., a wholesale brokerage operation, has added two senior brokers to its growing team. Shawn Young is a casualty insurance specialist with experience in general liability, products liability, auto liability and excess/umbrella placements. Young comes to NIP Specialty Brokerage from Post Financial Services Group, where he was a senior account manager. Michael Silverman has 14 years of marketing and underwriting experience in the insurance industry. Silverman has developed expertise in property and casualty, and has experience in the placement of DIC, excess flood, excess wind, excess earthquake and buyback programs for all types of exposures.
