Atlanta-based insurance broker Beecher Carlson has named Gerald Levine as managing director. Levine will be responsible for client development for Beecher Carlson’s Risk Management Practice. He will be based in the Old Lyme, Conn., office, which serves as Beecher Carlson’s entry into the state and expands its footprint in the Northeast.

Levine brings 33 years experience to Beecher Carlson. Most recently, he served as executive vice president of Webster Insurance of Meriden, Conn. Prior to that, he served as president of Levine Companies before its merger with Webster.

Levine has managed property and casualty programs for large Indian gaming casinos as well as other commercially-operated casinos and racinos in the Northeast and West.

Richard E. Meuret has been appointed vice president and manager, Field Operations Analysis, for Liberty Mutual Agency Markets regional company operations. Meuret will be based in the Boston home office and will work with the eight regional agency companies to achieve operational improvement and agency productivity.

Most recently, Meuret was vice president and senior actuary with America First Insurance, a Liberty Mutual Agency Markets regional company based in Richardson, Texas. He formerly worked at Allstate Insurance Co. in an actuarial capacity and prior to that he was as an actuarial specialist for Coregis Insurance Co.

Liberty Mutual Agency Markets also announced two other executive appointments.

Dwight W. Bowie, president and chief executive officer, Peerless Insurance, has been named to lead the transition of Ohio Casualty Corp. to Liberty Mutual Agency Markets on a countrywide basis. Bowie will be based in the Boston home office and will report to Gary Gregg, president, Agency Markets. Bowie has been the president of the Keene, N.H.-based Agency Markets’ regional company since 2003.

Also, Michael R. Christiansen has been appointed the new president and CEO of Peerless Insurance. Christiansen is rejoining Liberty Mutual Agency Markets, having recently served as regional president-Northeast with Hanover Insurance Group. Christiansen has a history with Peerless, serving in underwriting, marketing, and management capacities since 1984, before first being named president in January of 2000. He was later promoted to executive vice president of operations for the former Liberty Regional Agency Markets.

Marsh Inc. announced the appointment of Mark Feuer as chief executive officer of its U.S. business. In addition to his new responsibilities, Feuer will continue to lead Marsh’s U.S. Middle Market and Small Commercial segments, and remain a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, where he reports to Marsh Chairman and CEO Brian Storms.

Feuer, who was with Merrill Lynch for a 10-year period, joined Marsh in November 2006 to grow Marsh’s share in the middle market space.

Marsh Inc. has also named five senior insurance brokerage executives to lead the firm’s Middle Market operations in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, and the Carolinas.

Henry N. Watkins Jr. will lead Marsh’s Middle Market operations in New York; Kevin Daley takes charge in Los Angeles; Samuel D. Daume Jr., in Boston; Mark Freeman, in San Francisco, and James P. Breeney, in the Carolinas.

Watkins, who has 26 years of experience in insurance and related risk advisory roles, was vice president and Northeast regional director of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs.

Daley, who has 13 years insurance industry experience, joins Marsh from American International Group, where he was with one of the firm’s operations in Los Angeles.

Daume joins Marsh from Aon Risk Services Inc., where he was a managing director for New England and Upstate New York. Previously, he was with Marsh in Boston.

Freeman has more than 27 years of experience in the industry. Most recently, he was with Arthur J. Gallagher in San Francisco, where he was area president.

Breeney, who will be based in the Charlotte, N.C., office, most recently was with Aon Risk Services.

Professional Underwriters of Exton, Pa., named Gene Mammone as production underwriter, Municipal Programs. Mammone will be responsible for building the municipality segment of Professional Underwriters and its Community Works Insurance Program with a focus on towns, counties, water and sewer authorities, as well as tertiary municipality sectors on a nationwide basis. Mammone has 25 plus years of experience in the retail, wholesale, and underwriting of municipal insurance.

New York-based brokerage Kinloch Holdings Inc. has named Mark H. Englert as executive vice president. Englert will be responsible for building the group’s sales organization. Prior to joining Kinloch Holdings, Englert was president and chief executive officer of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs’ New York operating company.

Woodbridge, N.J.-based NIP Programs, a division of NIP Group Inc., announced that Timothy O’Connor has joined the management team as a program manager. O’Connor is responsible for the growth and profitability of the GrowPro insurance program within NIP Programs.

O’Connor has 25 years of insurance industry experience. He comes to NIP Programs from Discover Re (a Travelers Group company) where he was responsible for the loss sensitive casualty business in the New York City regional office. Prior to that, he co-founded and served as managing principal for Jacon SRA (Strategic Risk Alternatives), a consulting firm.

The Professional Insurance Agents of New Hampshire Inc. elected its officers for 2007-2008.

Judith George of Contoocook was re-elected president. George is vice president of commercial lines for Lakeside Insurance Agency in Windham. George served as president for 2006-2007 and president-elect for 2005-2006.

Stephen Wainwright of Gilford was re-elected as president-elect. Wainwright is president of Wainwright Insurance Services Inc. in Gilford.

Stanley Pollack of Londonderry was re-elected as vice president. Pollack owns Pollack Agency in Londonderry.

Scott Johnston of Londonderry was re-elected as secretary/treasurer. Johnston is president of Benway-Johnston Insurance in Derry.

Thomas O’Dowd of Wolfeboro serves as immediate past president. He is president of the J. Clifton Avery Agency in Wolfeboro.
