Builders Insurance Group. was assigned an “A-” (Excellent), FSC VI rating by A.M. Best Co. Builders Insurance Group, headquartered in Atlanta, includes two insuring entities, Builders Insurance (a Mutual Captive Company) and Association Insurance Company (AIC). Both will carry the “A-” rating.
According to Builders Insurance Group, A.M. Best said the rating reflects the company’s “strong profitability, adequate capitalization and strong market presence. These attributes are reflective of the dominant market share position as a provider of workers’ compensation in Georgia … Consistent profitability, combined with the group’s conservatism in establishing its loss reserves, is demonstrated in the equities embedded within the carried loss reserve position.”
Builders Insurance Group asserted its success and financial growth can be directly attributed to strong support from the Home Builders Association of Georgia (HBAG), its agency network and policyholder loyalty. With more than $35 million in policyholder surplus, the company is well positioned for the future. During 2001, Builders Insurance paid dividends totaling $5.9 million to its qualified policyholders and since 1997, the company has returned more than $23 million in policyholder dividends. In addition, annual customer retention rates exceed 90 percent.
