Top 100 Agencies

August 17, 2026

This year marks the 22nd annual publication of Insurance Journal’s Top 100 Independent Agencies special report. Many of the firms in the Top 100 saw notable increases in total property/casualty revenue year-over-year, but the total P/C revenue combined of all 100 firms declined by more than $2 billion from 2024 to 2025, possibly due to M&A activity and changing commercial insurance market conditions. (See the full report on page 30.)

The Top 10 saw the addition of four firms, including EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants; Alera Group; World Insurance Associations LLC; and IMA.

This year’s Top 100 also welcomes 10 firms not listed in last year’s report, including: Scott Insurance; Bearing Insurance; UNICO Group; Evertree Insurance; James Greene & Associates Inc.; McConkey Insurance & Benefits; Biltmore Insurance Services; Ori-gen Agency Insurance Services Inc.; Beehive Insurance Agency Inc.; and Windermere Insurance Group LLC.

While the list added new agencies, there were again agencies that fell off the ranking due to acquisitions, including: Accession Risk Management Group (now part of Brown & Brown); AssuredPartners (now part of Arthur J. Gallagher); The Buckner Company (now part of BroadStreet); CAC Group (now part of Baldwin Group); Kaplansky Insurance (now part of Alera Group); Tompkins Insurance Agencies Inc. (now part of Arthur J. Gallagher); Atlas Insurance Agency (now part of Marsh); and TWFG, which launched its public-company debut in 2025.

The Top 100 list continues to change each year as many agencies that were once privately held turn to large public brokers and private equity groups to grow and expand services. While the most active buyers over the past several years have significantly slowed M&A activity, the pace increased for emerging private equity firms, says OPTIS Partners (see page 8).

Insurance Journal thanks the hundreds of agencies and brokerages that participate each year by sharing their information for the Top 100 report. We invite others that have never submitted information to consider it next year. For questions, comments, or criticisms, write to us at Insurance Journal. And congratulations to this year’s Top 100 agencies!
