News and information provider LexisNexis™ launched an online investigative tool for insurers, LexisNexis™ Insurance Solutions, using public records collections to facilitate investigations and information verification. The subscription-based service is available to special investigative units, fraud unit managers and investigators, loss control and risk management departments.

Features of the tool enable users to locate, verify and validate information about people and businesses, identify assets, aliases and affiliations, and uncover judgments and liens. A proprietary feature incorporated into the fraud solutions page is LexisNexis Smartlinx™, which gathers information from more than 1.6 billion public-record documents and generates a single, comprehensive report.
