Brown & Brown Inc. has acquired Robertson Insurance Services Inc. The transaction is effective September 1, 2000. Robertson Insurance Services is a holding company for the majority partnership interest in Robertson/Welch Insurance Services, LLP, a commercial lines insurance agency located in Macungie, Pennsylvania.
This transaction represents the completion of the acquisition that began with the purchase of Bowers, Schumann & Welch, of Washington, New Jersey and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in early June 2000. Bowers, Schumann & Welch, now Brown & Brown of New Jersey, Inc., holds the other partnership interest in Robertson/Welch Insurance Services, LLP.
Brown & Brown, Inc., provides a broad range of insurance products and services, as well as risk management, employee benefit administration, and managed health care services through offices located across the United States. The company is ranked by Business Insurance magazine as the nation’s ninth largest independent insurance intermediary organization.
