The Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters will host its annual scholarship forum, “Privacy, Problems, Predictions, Pundits,” on May 3 at the Amica Insurance Company Amphitheater in Lincoln, R.I. The discussion will focus on privacy matters in relation to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley (GLB) Act.
The forum is recommended for all CPCU members, financial institutions, and small businesses who work with privacy issues. Independent agents attending the event can also pick up three continuing education credits, and proceeds from the forum go to help the scholarship fund.
The highlights will include a case study presentation by MetLife Vice Presidents Dick and Ed Rakowski: “How MetLife is Formulating Privacy Policy and Plans to Work Within the Privacy Regulations.” Part two of the event will consist of a panel talk by Ed Dence, (formerly of Fleet Bank, currently with the law firm of Edwards & Angell), David St. Germain (Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation), and MetLife Auto & Home Legal Department representatives Sheila Tobie Swan and Ron Williams.
For more information on the event, call Thomas Maggaciomo at (401) 353-0300. Tickets to the forum are $40.
