Donegal Mutual Insurance Co., based in Marietta Penn., has selected Mellon Financial Corp.’s “Electronic Billing Insurance System (ebis) to process certain of their agency billing functions.”
“Mellon’s ebis platform will improve our level of accounting control, allow us to collect receivables more quickly and accurately, and enable agents to use the Web to access customer policy information and agency statements,” said Daniel Wagner, Donegal VP and Treasurer in a written statement.
The property casualty carrier, which specializes in personal lines, farm and commercial products, marketed exclusively through independent agents in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Ohio, generates approximately $250 million in annual premium payments. It plans to begin using the ebis system during the first quarter of 2002.
