The American Insurance Association (AIA) today welcomed Tammy Velasquez as assistant vice president of its mid-Atlantic region.
Velasquez comes to AIA from the Department of Insurance and Securities Regulation (DISR) in Washington, D.C. where she worked with Commissioner Larry Mirel as the DISR chief of staff and director of public affairs. She has also served as director of state government affairs for the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents, and chief consumer advocate for the attorney general’s office in Louisiana.
