Selected individuals will receive a $350 scholarship to one CIC institute. Only first-time CIC participants are eligible; the deadline for nominations is Monday, July 14, 2003.
“PIACT and the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors have worked to make sure the insurance professionals are on the cutting edge of the insurance industry and the benefits are felt by both the employees and their employers,” stated Robert B. Gyle, IV, CIC, president of PIACT. “These scholarships provide long-range benefits to the insurance community, while offering new agents encouragement, training and promoting career advancement within the agencies and companies.”
The bulletin said candidates “should be strongly committed to continuing education and a career in insurance.” The award is only applicable to CIC institutes in Connecticut, and candidates must have the following qualifications:
— Be new to the CIC program;
— Have an employer who is a member of PIACT;
— Be employed full time in the insurance industry; and
— Be a licensed agent, broker, solicitor or have at least two years of full-time experience as a practitioner in insurance or risk management or have served at least two years as a full-time insurance faculty member at an accredited college or university.
The awards will be presented to the recipients during PIACT’s James K. Ruble Graduate Seminar Aug. 6-8.
