The Professional Insurance Agents of New Jersey Inc. told its members that it recently cooperated with Merchants Mutual Insurance Co. to review the company’s new, updated, agency agreement with its agents.
Prior to issuing the new agreement, Merchants sought PIA’s input in preparing the contract. PIANJ offered several suggestions, many of which were incorporated into the final Merchants agreement.
“We appreciate Merchants giving us the opportunity to offer suggestions and comments on their proposed contract,” stated Jill Muratori, Esq., government and industry affairs counsel for PIANJ. “We believe such opportunities help facilitate a healthy working relationship between companies and their agents.”
Merchants director of sales Dan Bierbrauer indicated, “PIANJ’s feedback was invaluable. We are pleased with the result of this collaborative effort.”
“PIANJ encourages members with questions about their contract to discuss them with the company. Association members,” said the announcement. They can receive a copy of PIANJ’s review of the final Merchants contract by contacting the PIA Industry Resource Center by fax at (888) 225-6935 or by e-mail at resourcecenter@piaonline.org
