December 4, 2003

The Professional Insurance Agents of New Jersey Inc. recently conferred the New Jersey Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Insurance Service Representative classes of 2003 in a ceremony at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City.

Thirty-four insurance professionals earned the CIC designation and 46 earned the CISR designation. Recipients of several 2003 scholarships were also honored during the ceremony.

Larry Welch, Society of CIC senior VP, introduced PIANJ past president and member of the National Alliance board of directors Steve Reichman, CIC, who assisted in awarding the CIC and CISR certificates to the conferees. The new CIC’s join the ranks of the 652 CIC’s who have already earned their N.J. designations.

“We congratulate all the recipients for enhancing their insurance knowledge through the challenging CIC and CISR curriculums,” Reichman stated. “By completing the programs, they have shown great dedication to their profession and the insurance industry.”

In addition to the conferees, PIANJ honored the 2003 scholarship recipients. The 2003 Outstanding Customer Service Representative of the Year award, given annually by the Societies of CIC and CISR, was presented by PIANJ to Christine Bierilo, The NIA Group LLC, Somerset.

“The scholarship recipients were chosen by their peers because they exhibit an exemplary understanding of the insurance industry and the communities they serve,” noted PIANJ President John D’Agostino Jr., CIC.

The Ruth Gilbert Memorial CIC Scholarships were presented to Grant Goldsmith, The McIntyre Group, Cherry Hill; Helen Bauer, Capacity Coverage Co. of New Jersey, Upper Saddle River; and Ivana Bickham, Cook, Hall & Hyde, Fairlawn.
