Conshohocken, Pa.-based Norman Spencer McKernan Inc. (NSM) insurance brokerage firm has announced the appointment of William M. Kanehann as chief operating officer.
Prior to joining NSM, Kanehann served as chief operating officer at the Clair Odell Group of Plymouth Meeting, Pa. He has also served as president of INAC Corp., a division of Cigna, Inc.; chief financial officer of McGettigan Partners, Inc. of Philadelphia; and president of Power Purchasing, Inc. of Exton, Pa. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
Commenting on the firm’s new hire, NSM president Geof McKernan said, “Bill is a top-tier business leader with impeccable credentials and a terrific track record.”
NSM has developed programs for difficult-to-place insurance risks such businesses as concrete pumper operations, temporary staffing agencies and residential homebuilders.
