PIA Creates Searchable Database from 10 Years of Experts’ Answers to Agents’ Questions

Since its inception 10 years ago, the Professional Insurance Agents of New York State, New Jersey, Connecticut and New Hampshire’s Industry Resource Center has handled thousands of member questions annually.

Now, PIA has created “Ask PIA,” a member-exclusive online database with hundreds of member questions, researched and answered in detail by PIA’s industry specialists, who have more than 100 years of combined industry experience.

“Insurance professionals face demands every day and they usually need the answer quickly. Agents are faced with companies that have strict underwriting requirements; clients protesting their premiums; and in-depth coverage questions that need to be researched,” said Shirley Albright, CISR, director, PIA Industry Resource Center. “By using ‘Ask PIA,’ insurance professionals can get answers to all these questions as well as other legal, technical, legislative and regulatory questions. The range of topics is all-inclusive and more questions are added to the database each day.”

The site is searchable by keyword or members can view a complete state index listing. It also has links to other PIA-member benefits including the Technical Hotline, E&O assistance, BusinessLink?, Circle of Consultants and the Agency Transition program.

In addition to viewing previously asked questions, “Ask PIA” also allows members to ask a question, which will be answered in a timely manner.

“Ask PIA” can be accessed via PIA’s Web site at www.piaonline.org and then by clicking the “Ask PIA” button.
