The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New Jersey (IIABNJ) 11th Annual Charity Golf Classic to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey will take place May 3, 2005 at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township.
“We’re back for another charity golf outing and our goal is to beat last year’s contributions to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. With the help of very dedicated volunteers and sponsors, we think we can”, said Jim McPherson, chairman of the IIABNJ Charity Golf Committee. “This is my fifth year running the event and there is no better feeling than giving to an organization that is working for children – they’re creating memories and IIABNJ is a part of that.”
Last year, IIABNJ raised $40,000 for the New Jersey chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Founded in 1983, the Foundation is celebrating its 22nd year of making dreams a reality for seriously ill children. To date, more than 4,200 wishes have been granted for N.J. children.
“Through the incredible generosity of our friends at IIABNJ, four very special children had their wishes come true last year,” said Paul Huegel, Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey president & CEO. “The support from the Golf Classic enabled Zachary (age 4) and Antoinette (14) to meet their favorite Disney characters aboard a Disney Cruise, while Kelvin (5) visited ‘Mickey’ at the Magic Kingdom. Edward (6) wished for his very own computer and has IIABNJ to thank for the hours he now spends enjoying it. We look forward to this year’s event and IIABNJ’s continued partnership in making wishes come true for seriously-ill children in New Jersey.”
