The Excess Line Association of New York has appointed Louis E. Nunez as director of communications and education. Nunez will undertake responsibility for public relations, media projects and publications and be reporting to Daniel Maher, executive director.
Nunez will also direct educational and training activities internally and for the industry on ELANY’s behalf.
Most recently Nunez was assistant vice president of the international division for a ELANY member company of the Reliance Insurance Group.
Nunez is a graduate of St. John’s University and earned the BBA and MBA degrees from the former College of Insurance. He was named a RIMS Scholar and awarded the Herbert L. Spencer Foundation Scholarship Award. A past president of the The College of Insurance Alumni Association, he taught as an adjunct professor at St. John’s. Having earned his CPCU in 1983, Nunez holds six other designations from the Insurance Institute of America. He was a member of the CPCU Society Board of Directors, chairman of National Candidate Development Committee, member of the Excess/Surplus/Specialty Lines Section Committee and a past president of the New York Chapter – CPCU.
ELANY is a non profit industry advisory association charged with the duty to facilitate and encourage compliance with the excess line law.
