Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell and State Police and Motor Vehicle officials from Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island will kick off a Tri-State Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Operation on Tuesday, August 29, at 2:30 p.m. at the Weigh Station on I-84 (eastbound) in Union, Connecticut.
This first-ever operation will take place over three days, with one state acting as the “host” state with law enforcement from all three states participating in that host state.

Day #2 08/30/06 in Massachusetts
Day #3 08/31/06 in Rhode Island
This enforcement program is designed to enable troopers and DMV Inspectors from each of the three states to participate in a nationwide commercial brake check; intercept commercial vehicles that have deliberately evaded detection during conventional commercial operations; direct attention to high-risk operational behavior and provide the public with information regarding safe operation of commercial motor vehicles and passenger cars around commercial.
There will be a demonstration of “blind spots– showing what commercial drivers can and cannot see when driving their big rigs.
