Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has introduced a new benefit for eligible political risk insurance policyholders: access to a one-off advisory consultation with Blackthorn Risk Group Ltd., a London-based independent security consultancy.
Through this new arrangement, eligible clients purchasing qualifying political risk insurance from Liberty’s London team can opt in to a focused, practical discussion with a senior Blackthorn adviser, at no additional charge for the defined consultation scope.
This gives eligible Liberty clients with the option to speak directly with a senior Blackthorn adviser about the security issues most relevant to their operations and receive advice and guidance on protecting their assets.
Clients who opt in receive a 60-minute virtual session covering up to two insured locations of their choice, preceded by a short information request so the conversation can be tailored to their business. Blackthorn will then follow up with a written summary highlighting key observations and suggested next steps.
“As political instability and security-related risks continue to challenge businesses operating internationally, it is essential that we support our clients with through our product offering,” commented William Limb, head of Political Risk Solutions, Liberty Specialty Markets, in a statement.
“Through this partnership our clients can access a market leading specialist adviser to discuss the security issues affecting their business, along with high-level, practical observations that may help inform their approach to risk management,” Limb added.
“Businesses operating in complex environments often know that security issues require attention but may lack a clear starting point. Our advisers spend their careers focused on these malicious risks, and this consultation gives Liberty’s clients direct access to that experience. It provides practical, actionable, and prioritised insight into their exposures,” according to Jerry Smith, head of Advisory, Blackthorn Risk Group Ltd.
The consultation is optional, has no impact on a client’s insurance cover, and is subject to eligibility, opt-in, policy issuance, and payment of premium. It must be completed within 90 days of policy issuance. It is provided directly by Blackthorn under its own engagement terms and is intended as high-level, advisory guidance rather than a substitute for detailed risk assessment, implementation support, or specialist legal, regulatory or other professional advice.
