A Sussex County Democrat is running for Delaware insurance commissioner.
Tom Savage filed to run for the seat earlier this month, setting up a primary against Gene Reed of Bear.
Savage, a former deputy Wilmington fire chief, lives near Lewes. He ran unsuccessfully for a state Senate seat in 2004.
John Brady of Sussex is the only Republican candidate for insurance commissioner.
Incumbent Matthew Denn, a Democrat, is giving up the job to run for lieutenant governor.
