March 10, 2009

A fire has killed 10,000 turkeys inside a central Pennsylvania barn.

John Zechman of the Beaver Springs Fire Company says the 300-foot-long barn was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived overnight Friday.

He says the fire is not considered suspicious. No injuries have been reported.

The fire happened in Adams Township, about 50 miles northwest of Harrisburg in Snyder County.
