A visit to Rhode Island’s Division of Motor Vehicles is getting more expensive.
DMV title fees increase Monday from $26.50 to $51.50, which includes a $1.50 technology charge.
The new fees apply to certificates of title, transfers of title, duplicates of title, issuances of security lien statements, changes of security lien statement, and salvage titles.
The changes were approved earlier this month, as part of the state’s plan to close a $357 million budget deficit.
