Shawn Sheekey has been named acting administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicles Commission.
He replaces Sharon A. Harrington, who was recently appointed to the New Jersey Casino Control Commission.
Sheekey has served as Deputy Chief Administrator of MVC since 2002. He was instrumental in the historic overhaul of motor vehicle services in New Jersey beginning with the Fix DMV initiative and the subsequent New Jersey Motor Vehicle Security & Customer Service Act of 2003.
He also oversaw the launch of New Jersey’s Digital Driver License (DDL) and 6 Point ID Verification System.
