About two dozen vehicles were battered after hitting a large metal object that somehow ended up on a suburban New York highway.
State police say no one was injured during the incident Sunday night on Interstate 287 in Harrison.
Several cars crashed or suffered dents. Four drivers had to change flat tires. One vehicle had a punctured gas tank.
A trooper said the object may have been a ladder. Some witnesses said it looked like a truck part or a bicycle.
