A woman who says she was beaten at 50 Cent’s Connecticut mansion has been awarded more than $30,000 in her lawsuit against a member of the rapper’s entourage.
A Waterbury Superior Court judge ruled Thursday in favor of 24-year-old Shana Chin, who sued 28-year-old Dwayne McKenzie on allegations he assaulted and choked her in his bedroom at 50 Cent’s Farmington mansion after a Memorial Day party in 2008.
Judge Joseph Pellegrino said there was enough evidence to support Chin’s claims for her injuries.
Chin had sought $100,000. She said she had been dating McKenzie, who lived at the mansion once owned by boxer Mike Tyson.
McKenzie said he didn’t know how Chin was injured. He was arrested shortly after the incident and allowed into a violence education program.
