Delaware authorities say 26,000 birds were lost after an electrical malfunction caused a fire that destroyed a poultry house west of Bridgeville.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire started shortly before 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Officials say the chicks were only eight days old. Damage to the poultry house was estimated at $250,000.
