A town official in Greenwich, Connecticut says a man has died after a concrete slab collapsed on him, killing him instantly as he worked in a trench.
Medics and police and fire officials responded at about 3 p.m. Monday to a report of a construction worker who was trapped in a trench.
First Selectman Peter Tesei, who also is fire commissioner, was at the scene and confirmed the unidentified man’s death to the Greenwich Time.
Another worker was injured and taken to Greenwich Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
