Pennsylvania Gov.-elect Tom Corbett has will nominate lawyer Michael Consedine as the state’s next insurance commissioner.
Consedine, 41, is a partner in the Harrisburg office of law firm Saul Ewing, where he serves vice chair of the firm’s insurance practice group. Under former Gov. Tom Ridge, Consedine was a lawyer for the Insurance Department.
At Saul Ewing, Consedine’s clients have ranged from large international companies to a group of nuns who lost their automobile insurance.
Consedine has never worked for an insurance company, and said his private law practice has focused on health care and property and casualty insurance.
