Great Falls Insurance Company, a workers’ compensation insurer based in Auburn, Me., appointed industry veteran Keith Smaldon as director of business development.
In his new role, Smaldon will work with agents to help identify and write new business while retaining existing clients. He will also assist CEO Gary Hall with the company’s overall marketing, branding and business development initiatives.
Smaldon’s career includes reinsurance experience at Lloyds of London. Since moving to Maine in 1989, he has been an insurance agent/broker concentrating on sales across a broad spectrum of risks throughout New England.
Founded in 2007, Great Falls Insurance is a Maine domiciled company and is the first new Maine-based licensed insurance company in 18 years. It offers workers’ compensation insurance and risk management services and focuses on small- and medium-sized businesses in Maine.
