The state of Vermont is honoring several companies for their commitment to safety in the workplace.
The Ben & Jerry’s plant in St. Albans and the H.P. Hood plant in Barre have won awards in the large business category.
Chroma Technology of Bellows Falls won the prize — called the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Workplace Safety — in the small business category.
Steve Monahan, director of workers’ compensation and safety for the state Department of Labor, presented the awards at a recent annual safety conference.
