Pearl River, N.Y.-based global reinsurance broker U.S. RE Corporation appointed Victor Marques as senior vice president.
U.S. RE said Marques brings more than 25 years in the field to his new role at the company’s expanding brokerage operations. Marques was formerly executive vice president at BMS Group. Before that, he was senior vice president with AM RE Brokers, a division of Munich Reinsurance Corporation.
He also held leadership positions at Munich America Services Corp. and prior to that at Willcox Incorporated, the reinsurance brokerage subsidiary of Johnson & Higgins. He started his career at Covenant Mutual Insurance Company and has since worked in several sectors of the reinsurance field, including reinsurance underwriting, claims, retrocession and technology. In his new role, Marques will be based in U.S. RE’s headquarters in Pearl River, N.Y.
U.S. RE Corporation is one of the largest, independent reinsurance brokers with worldwide clients. The company is active in the placement of treaty, program and facultative reinsurance. In addition to the placement of conventional reinsurance, the company also develops and places non-traditional reinsurance mechanisms including finite risk reinsurance and various proprietary products.
