Conn.-Based SPARTA Insurance Taps Everest National Exec as Senior VP

Hartford, Conn.-based SPARTA Insurance Co. appointed Mario Chiappetti as senior vice president of professional lines.

Most recently, Chiappetti was vice president of distribution and marketing for Everest National Insurance Co., after serving as vice president of their management liability division. Everest National is a U.S. insurance subsidiary of Everest Re Group Ltd.

Chiappetti began his insurance career with Chubb & Son. He went on to join Aon Financial Services Group, holding positions of increasing responsibility in professional lines marketing and production. After a 14 year run, Chiappetti was recruited back to Chubb Specialty in Simsbury, Conn., where he was responsible for managing agency relationships as well as the marketing and communication groups.

In 2003, Mario joined Arch Insurance Group where he served as chief marketing officer and then senior vice president and branch manager of their Mid-Atlantic branch.

SPARTA is an acronym for Specialty Program and Risk Transfer Alternatives and was formed in March 2007 as a property/casualty underwriting company providing customized, unbundled program services in the property/casualty marketplace in the United States.
